Isopods and millipedes
Isopods, millipedes and centipedes, from peaceful clean-up crews to fast venomous predators.
Isopods
Undemanding crustaceans that feed on leaf litter and debris. They are kept as pets in their own right or as a clean-up crew in bioactive terrariums. They need moist substrate, leaves and bark.
Millipedes
Slow plant-eating animals that are safe for people, though they release an irritating fluid when threatened, so wash your hands after contact. They need a deep layer of moist substrate with leaves and rotting wood.
Centipedes
Fast predators with venomous jaws; the bite of large species is very painful. They are kept alone in a closed terrarium and handled with forceps only, so they are for experienced keepers.
