Description
A practical habitat for small exotic animals
The ANTMART 300×300×200 mm terrarium is designed for housing small exotic predators and invertebrates. Its transparent walls provide an all-around view of the interior, while the white base creates a clear visual background for substrate, shelters, and decorative elements. The enclosure combines front access, flow-through ventilation, and a fully detachable structure that can be cleaned more thoroughly when required.
Acrylic walls and a PETG base
The transparent walls are made from 3 mm cast acrylic. This material keeps the animal clearly visible and gives the enclosure the rigidity needed for everyday use. The bottom panel is made from white PETG plastic with no pronounced odor. It is presented as a practical alternative to a polystyrene base and is suitable for a design in which a heat mat may be used.
Clips hold the enclosure components together without creating a permanently sealed body. This assembly method helps the structure cope with normal vibration and mechanical stresses during handling and maintenance. When deep cleaning or disinfection is necessary, the terrarium can be completely dismantled so the walls, bottom, and connection points can be treated separately.
Continuous air movement
The ventilation openings are positioned to support airflow through the enclosure. Regular air exchange reduces stagnant, humid zones that can contribute to mold and fungal growth. Actual temperature, humidity, ventilation intensity, and substrate conditions must still be selected for the particular species rather than inferred from the enclosure alone.
Front access for routine care
A front door provides direct access for feeding, servicing a water dish, removing food remains, and adjusting the interior without reaching in from above. This opening arrangement is useful for animals that may react defensively or become unsettled when movement occurs over their shelter. It also makes small maintenance tasks easier when there is no need to dismantle the entire enclosure.
Suitable types of inhabitants
The dimensions and layout allow this model to be considered for several groups of small exotic animals:
- terrestrial and burrowing tarantulas;
- scorpions, including desert species from the genera Androctonus and Leiurus;
- geckos and other small lizards;
- centipedes, millipedes, and decorative isopods.
Before introducing an animal, the enclosure dimensions, airflow, and proposed heating method should be checked against the needs of the exact species and life stage. Substrate, shelters, decorations, and equipment should be arranged without blocking the door or ventilation openings. A heat mat, when appropriate for the chosen species, must be positioned and controlled according to that animal’s husbandry requirements.
